Rest In Peace Mr. Farmer

Philip Jose Farmer passed away in his sleep this morning at the age of 91. Farmer was one of the first authors I found when delving into science fiction for the first time. I remember reading Dayworld during summer break in middle school, leaning  against a tree while my mind was filled with vivid images of  daybreakers and organics.

After finishing Dayworld, I rushed to the library and looked for more. Of course, none existed yet, so I settled on To Your Scattered Bodies Go. I had thought I picked up a scifi book, but it read like a cross between a pirate movie and a western. I was hooked. That summer I went through all of the Riverworld series and several of his stand-alone books.

You will be missed Mr. Farmer, see you on the banks of The River.
