Look Homeward, Bibliophile
By brendan | July 7, 2008
Not so long ago, I wrote about Asheville’s penchant for books. (For those who don’t already know, Biblio.com is based in beautiful Asheville, NC - home of Thomas Wolfe). Over the past weekend, our local newspaper, the Asheville Citizen-Times, just happened to run a story on some of the local independent bookstores in Asheville.
I especially enjoyed the quote from Emoke B’Racz of Malaprops and Downtown Books and News (for whom both Stephen and I worked at one point or another): “I think book selling is a dream, not really a business.” To be honest, I’m not entirely certain which way to interpret the comment, yet somehow it seems to ring true.
